Participant Age Range: 6-12 year olds, each paired 1-on-1 with an adult volunteer "buddy"

This 1-day workshop — co-facilitated with Carmen J. Hernandez — engaged approximately 50 young people to create a temporary mural at Art Expo NY. Supporting the expo's 2010 theme, the project prompted young people to reinvent the cityscape — imagining alternative uses or identities for everyday objects. For example, skateboards that can ride up skyscrapers, walking public trash cans that are always where they need to be, or subway cars that can fly!
